Dress for Bug

A few weeks back we took family photos. But unfortunately it was so cold she had to wear a sweater and also a jacket.

I made her this dress an hour before we had to head out the door, it was a total rush job. I fashioned the bottom part of the dress from one of mister lovely husbands discarded t-shirts. and the top was just some left over jersey knit fabric from my stash.

Personally, I think it turned out pretty good considering that she goes through dress so freaking fast. Oh yeah and that Balloon is the original one from our family photos. it just wont fall to the ground keeps on floating.

Yummy...

April 1st is my abosolute FAVORITE day!

Ain't MUFFIN to it..

I'm cold, and when I get cold I tend to bake so I have an excuse to turn the oven on. I love having so many goodies in my house and I also hate having all the goodies in my house. These goodies just so happen went to my Sister in Laws Baby shower, so I only had to keep a few =)


These ones are called Banana Crunch Muffins and they were pretty tasty I'm Lucky that my mom has about a Zillion Cook books and also a scanner so she can send me recipes every time I think of something random to bake.

 I also have a cute rag-a-muffin, she was getting jealous that I was taking pics of the muffins and not her.

I'm even lazy enough not to retype the recipe and just copy what my mother sent me in the email. Hey it's easier that way what can I say. I also didn't mean to rhyme right there.

Secret baker..

I am a Secret Baker, I really enjoy baking anything and everything as long as I don't have to make regular chocolate chip cookies. If you asked me if i could make fresh fruit tarts I would say, "no problem" a cake from scratch... "sure thing" but those dang blasted chocolate chip cookies are my downfall.  

Husband says the Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Oatmeal are just not the same. I guess that's just one of the reasons why I don't hardly bake. That and possibility that I might end up eating the entire thing before Husband gets home or before Bug wakes up from her nap.

So there my sad little oven sits just waiting to be used not caring if it were a mere slice of bread needing warming. Alas no pastries, no tarts, and no chocolate chip cookies... so sad


mmmm now I want a cookie.

Let them eat cake...

I had the privilege Saturday to decorate a baby shower cake for my sister in law Haylie. I have been trying my hand at all these new crafty things to figure out which ones I like best. Sadly for Lance and his wallet I like them all =)

This was my forth attempt at covering a cake and decorating it with fondant. A few things I have learned is that Fondant doesn't roll out very well when you yell at it and cornstarch is WAY easier to roll out fondant and to clean up after opposed to powdered sugar.
