100th book - After Obsession
So far this year I have read 100 books. After Obsession just so happen to be my 100th book which I think is very appropriate. Reason being it was just released in Oct and it is NOT in a series. which was kind of a relief. I had reading books that just come out and then find out they are the first is a 3, 4 6 or even 7 book series... that's like waiting years people!!! Granted some books are worth the wait.
I am currently stuck on one form of genre, fallen angels, vampires, wolfs, fairies. etc etc etc. I enjoy reading these books because I can read them fast. (approx a book a day) along with not having to THINK to much about what I'm reading. Some of the books specifically the fallen angel ones have actually ran together and I don't know whos from what book.
So about After Obsession, Luckily its not girl meets boy, girl loves boy something tragic happens, they fix it, everyone is saved. Oh wait... that's what happens. Even though it was predictable it was enjoyable to read. Alan and his mom move to a little town in Maine from Oklahoma when His cousins dad dies so they can help out financially. Thing is He is Half Navajo Indian and he has been having "visions" about a girl who just so happens to be his cousins best friend. Cousins best friend on the other hand whos' name is Aimee is from this little town lost her mother tragically some time ago and also has dreams out this new kid before he moves into town that and something weird is going on with the town. thats all I got.
Now my 101st is an exciting one called Dearly, Departed. by Lia Habel It's a Steampunk Zombie romance(?) book that I'm pretty excited about.

Culinary Mysteries - Josi Kilpack
One thing I should say about these books is pace yourself. Although they are a good read after the 5th one in a month I was a little tired of the character. Now don't get me wrong Sadie Hoffmiller is a good women. she got that nosy personality that almost makes you want to smack her. but she is fun and has some really great and not so random recipes while solving her murders that no one asked her to solve. (see nosey)
I have tried a few of the recipes in these books and I am actually excited ti try a few of the desserts later on, (that is when it starts getting a bit warmer and such occasion calls for a good dessert that I don't have to eat by myself. Ok so back on track with the books. I'm eager to see what she has for the next and final 3 books she has for this series.

Book Review - Maggie Steifvaer - Shiver series
I'm going to guess that this series only has 3 books, I can't fully make that judgement call considering the third book "forever" has yet to be released. So far so good, each of these books were hard for me to really get into, most likely due to the fact they they read slowly at first and when all the recaps and info was out of the way you could really dive into the "action" action not being the correct word but it works for right now since I'm not going to think of a better word.
The Question is will I read the third book?
Answer: most likely, I am intrigued to see what the author will do in a third book, but will I rush t get it?.. not really. their are far better books that are being released this year that are further up on my list then this one.
It could also be the fact that I'm not a huge fan of Werewolves..eh

Fancy Nancy
Bug is new to the Fancy Nancy band wagon, My friend Fish told me about these books and I tried to read some to Bug but she never had any interest. that and she wasn't Ariel so go figure.
We have been going to the library at least once or twice a week... ok ok sometimes I am there once or twice a day! I can't get enough of that place and they always seem to call me after I have already left to tell me that I have books to be picked up. I digress, We started checkout some Fancy Nancy books and tonight was the first time Bug actually was interested. she looks at the book and said "Oh Fancy Nancy is sooo Beautiful" I like how she repeats the "fancy" words in the book. This little girl is going to have one heck of a broad vocabulary if we keep this up.=)

Books - Water for Elephants and Bitter Melon
I have read quite a few books in the last two months. I would love to write reviews for them HOWEVER i am lame enough to have started about 6 series that have yet to finish. Most of the final novels will come out in may June or July and some in October. So until I read the entire series I wont post anything about them.
On that Note I Recently read two books that I believe are note worthy.
First being:
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was the first book I had read that didn't involve a wolf, vampire, wizard, immortal, fallen angel, donkey, sad girl that gets swept up buy dark, sexy and mysterious boy. etc... (ok I just through Donkey in there, I've been watching Shrek with Bug alot too.)
What I liked about this book was the detail that the put into it. I mean I really could have lived without picturing the hairy butt in the field doing something unmentionable. although she did mention it.. oh well that's not the point. I started reading ad I think I has a permagrin on my face the entire time.
I'm can't really say much else without giving parts away. But I will say this..Recollection of a 90 or 93 year old his memory is set in the 30's during the depression, boy runs away and ends up working in the circus, meets girl, and the rest takes off from there.
As for his book (online book club):
SOOOO not what I have read in the past, It's about a Chinese girl who is coming into her Senior year at an all girls school in San Fran. she has always done what her mother has told her until one day she got placed into the wrong class and her choices and actions start changing.
I'm not even putting that correctly. It's an easy read I think the level said it was for grades 7-12. Personally I would have never picked it for myself but I'm glad I read it.

Wings, Spells and a Vampire Review
3 books - Jan 27 - Jan 30
I am a big fan of book that I can just zip right through. One thing that I I try to avoid is start a collection of books without the entire collection being out. I made the mistake with these to Wings and also Spells the third book wont be out until May UGH. I really enjoyed these two book s while it lasted though they only took me about a day to read and it was a cute story about a girl who doesn't know that she is a faerie and ends up falling in love, saving people, and figuring out what to do with the new knowledge that she has come across. or something like that. it is basically your same story line just different author. Now don't get me wrong I enjoyed reading it I liked the idea of a faeries living in the human world. I just wish I would have started them AFTER the third one came out so I'm not left waiting.
Not much to say, if you have read this along with the other twilight books you might have the same questions.. such as Why did Bree think Edwards hair was red and why did Stephenie Meyer write it that way. I also want to know what happen to Freaky Fred. just sayin'

Book Review 2
Read Jan 13- Jan20
I am a big fan of the show Castle, and It really has nothing to do with the story line, ( even though that helps) I just have a HUGE crush on Nathan Fillion. Who doesn't right?
So here I was walking along the hall in the phoenix terminal and I see.. NAKED HEAT I was so excited that I call my mom and tell her about it and what does she say " Honey, I have the first one here if you want to read them when you get into town." later I find out My sister SA has it! LAME
blah blah blah back home blah blah back to California blah fill in the middle part.. I get my hands on the book Heat Wave and immediately I think, this is just a longer version of the TV show with different names for the people. It also seemed like the actual writers where the same writers from the show because they had a TON of the same phrases, likenesses etc.. On the plus side I did like that I couldn't figure out who the killer was going to be so that was an added bonus. The Second book Naked Heat was better because you already knew the characters, the tension between them and the writing and flow of the book was way better its as if the finally got the flow right.
It was an easy read and entertaining but not addicting. I mainly read them so fast because I have nothing better to do and I wasn't interested in starting a new book just yet..
BUG's BOOK REVIEW:
I had these little books when I was younger and I remember loving them! My mom as a present to Bug bought her a complete set from EBay since they are no longer in print. When we received them in the mail I showed her and this is what she said:
Bug: For me?
Me: Yes bug these are your very own books
Bug: oh I love them I love them, Look at how many!
( now as you read this thing extremely dramatic, because that is how she is )
Thanks mom for letting me borrow your books and buying Bug hers, you are the BEST!
on a side note Bug just came into the computer room looked at my keyboard and said
"thats the letter L" and Totally knew what she was talking about
l u z h o a - thats from bug - those are the letters she was able to point to and name

My first and possibly ONLY Book Review
4 Books Read- Dec 28 thru Jan 10

I don't normally write about books I have read and one of the biggest reasons it that I have been rereading both twilight and harry potter over and over again due to my lack of book collection and also ambition to find new books. (I really should start with what my long time friend Teri from SNARKYMAMMA reads and just go from there)
So I jumped on the hunger game band wagon. And let me just say I'm happy I did. I love the way Suzanna Collins writes. She has such a way with words that I don't have to read the same sentence over and over again to understand what she is meaning and she doesn't over use words such a chagrin (long story, I may tell you about it later) Since I am terrible at making thoughts into words and even worse trying to put emotion into words I will just say I enjoyed reading these books.

This book on the other hand.. UGH I was having the hardest time getting through it. It was confusing for the first 20 chapters and then everything started coming together. When I first started it I Was so bored that I kept falling asleep. why or how i finished it i have no clue, Normally when I read I can recall small important details but this book was just hard to follow. Sorry Michael Young, You are probably a nice person and all I just didn't like your book.
And there you have it a book review from the least qualified person. Especially because in my attempt to write I have abused the English Language. Oh well.
